Having begun his career as a police officer for the City of Gatineau in 1996, Hugo Girard is now a speaker and spokesperson for several companies. A fitness coach and host of TV shows such as Les rénos d’Hugo, 321 BBQ and À vos risques et périls, Hugo Girard is a former strength athlete, bodybuilder and strongman championship organizer. Entrepreneur and owner of several lines of dietary supplements (Hugo Nutrition), he also has his own Hugo Strong clothing brand.
A native of Portneuf-sur-Mer on Quebec’s North Shore, he began training at the age of 5, and by 12 was already determined to become the strongest man in the world. In 2022, he achieved this feat by winning the IFSA SuperSeries World Championship title. He was Canadian champion of his sport from 1995 to 2004 and North American champion from 2001 to 2002. One of his most remarkable feats was to pull an 80-ton Boeing 737 100 feet in 43 seconds.
For more than 10 years, he took part in numerous strongman competitions on the international circuit, winning several titles in the process:
- 6 times IFSA Super Series 2002 strongest man in the world.
- 6 times Canada’s strongest man.
- 2 times North America’s strongest man.
- 4-time World Muscle Power Champion.
Through his strongman career, his international professional athletic career and his entrepreneurial success, Hugo demonstrates that success depends on oneself and one’s own will to act!

For several years now, he has been perfecting his playing skills through various training courses, always ready to take on new challenges.
